PART 1 — FOR EMPLOYERS

Pre-Employment Training in the North East

Need work-ready candidates? We bridge the gap.

UTraining trains, pre-screens and supports motivated candidates with the practical skills your business is looking for — then connects you with people who are ready to work. Not just a CV in your inbox. A candidate who's been prepared for your role.

Why Recruit Through UTraining?

Finding good candidates is hard. Finding candidates who are actually prepared for the job — who understand your sector, have practical skills, and are motivated to work — is harder still. That's where we come in.

Work-Ready, Not Just Job-Ready

Our candidates don't just have a CV. They've completed practical, face-to-face training that's been shaped around real employer needs. They understand workplace expectations, sector-specific basics, and what it takes to turn up and contribute from day one.

Pre-Screened and Motivated

Every candidate we put forward has been supported throughout their programme. We know who's engaged, who's reliable, and who's ready. You don't waste time on applicants who aren't serious — we've already filtered for you.

Sector-Specific Training

We align training to your roles. Manufacturing and processing, construction and groundworks, warehouse and logistics, administration and customer service — we design the programme around the skills you actually need, not a generic employability template.

Ongoing Partnership, Not a One-Off

75% of our business comes from repeat clients. We're not a recruitment agency ticking a box — we're a training partner who learns your business and keeps sending you better candidates over time. Work trials, feedback loops, and continuous improvement are built in.

What We Can Deliver

Our pre-employment programmes are built around the sectors that drive the North East economy. We design training that matches your roles — not a one-size-fits-all employability course. Here are the sectors we currently cover, with more being added as we expand.

Manufacturing & Processing

Practical training for production environments — quality awareness, health and safety, standard operating procedures, and the workplace behaviours that manufacturing employers expect.

Construction & Groundworks

Pre-employment training aligned to construction site requirements — basic health and safety, site readiness, tool familiarity, and the physical and practical expectations of a construction role.

Warehouse & Logistics

Skills for warehousing, distribution, and supply chain roles — picking and packing fundamentals, stock handling, safety procedures, and the pace and reliability logistics employers need.

Administration & Customer Service

Office and customer-facing readiness — communication skills, IT basics, professional conduct, and the interpersonal skills that make someone effective in an admin or customer service role from day one.

Leadership & Team Management

For candidates stepping into team leader or supervisory roles — understanding team dynamics, basic leadership principles, and how to support and motivate others in a workplace setting.

Lean & Continuous Improvement

An introduction to Lean and continuous improvement thinking — spotting waste, understanding process flow, and the mindset that helps employees contribute to efficiency and quality.

Green & Sustainability

Training that embeds Green Circular Economy principles — understanding sustainability in a workplace context, resource efficiency, and how employees can contribute to environmental goals on the job. Included by default in all programmes unless you specifically request otherwise.

Our Employer Partners

We work alongside the organisations that connect people to opportunity across the North East. Our partnerships ensure we recruit motivated learners and connect them with employers who are genuinely hiring.

Becoming a Partner

Want to partner with us?

We partner with employers who can provide:

  • Recruitment support — real vacancies, not just expressions of interest

  • Work trials — giving candidates a genuine opportunity to show what they can do

  • Job offers — for successful programme completers who prove themselves

If you can offer those three things, we can build a training pipeline that sends you prepared, motivated candidates — cohort after cohort.

PART 2 — FOR INDIVIDUALS

Looking to Get Into Work?

If you're unemployed and looking for a job, you're in the right place. Our pre-employment training is free, face-to-face, and designed to give you the practical skills and confidence that employers are actually looking for. No online modules. No sitting at home alone. Real tutors, real support, real jobs at the end of it.

Free Training to Get You Into Work

Our pre-employment programmes are government funded — which means there's no cost to you if you're eligible. You get practical training, real support, and a direct line to employers who are actively recruiting. We've helped hundreds of people across the North East get into work, and we can help you too.

Free, Funded Training

No fees. No catch. If you're unemployed and looking for work, you're likely eligible for fully funded training. We'll confirm your eligibility when you get in touch — it's quick and straightforward.

Face-to-Face, Not Online

We don't do Zoom courses or self-paced modules. Every session is delivered in person by a real tutor who knows your sector. You learn alongside other people, ask questions, and build confidence in a supportive environment.

Help with CVs and Interviews

We don't just train you and send you on your way. We help you build a CV that works, prepare for interviews, and present yourself with confidence. By the time you meet an employer, you're ready.

Direct Links to Employers

We partner with employers who are actively hiring. When you complete your training, you're not job-hunting alone — we connect you with businesses that have real vacancies and are looking for people like you. You can also browse live job opportunities on our Job Board at any time — before, during, or after your training.

See the jobs our employer partners are recruiting for right now.

Our Job Board features live vacancies from employers we work with across the North East — manufacturing, construction, warehouse, admin, and more. New roles are added regularly. You don't have to wait until you've finished training to see what's out there.
